Grasshoppers can consider themselves a little unlucky to have been opposition on the day that Christchurch chose to produce arguably their strongest performance of the season. In the first half, Christchurch put six past the visitors, Lois opening the scoring with a top-drawer lifted hit from the top D after great work by Becky and Helen. A short corner brought the second goal, the original strike well saved but Becky was alert to the opportunity and did well to lift the ball over the prone ‘keeper. Helen then made it 3-0 before Lesley popped up with an amazing quick-fire hat-trick. Christchurch began sniffing around the D again immediately as the second half began and having terrorised the defence without reward in the first half, Megan finally beat the ‘keeper at her near post with a rasping shot. Minutes later, a foot on the line gave Christchurch a penalty flick. Lois’ dispatch was unstoppable and a clear indicator that despite their considerable cushion, Christchurch were not about to sit back. Not content with a hat-trick under her belt, Lesley added her own fourth and the ninth for Christchurch before the magic ten was brought up by Becky. Having come close in the previous game, it was good to hit double figures for the first time, and managing to do so despite the Grasshoppers goalkeeper making several good saves. MOTM: Lesley
