Despite a few lapses in concentration at the back (three, to be precise), this was another assured performance and the three points which secured Christchurch 1st place in the league, regardless of results to come. However, it was Sudbury who took the lead, winning a short corner in the early stages of the game. The usually alert defence were slow to the ball, allowing a clear shot at goal which Kathryn got a stick to but could not keep out. Perhaps this acted as a wake-up call as Christchurch responded with five first half goals scored by Katy, Becky, Sheri and two for Megan.
Megan completed yet another hat-trick early in the second half before Lois got onto the scoresheet and Becky picked up her second. At 8-1, Sudbury could have been considered dead and buried but they kept focussed and scored a second, again from a short corner. Lois restored the seven goal gap but Sudbury would not lie down and had the last say when Liz Spencer ran at the Christchurch defence and hit home an excellent individual goal. MOTM- Helen, Megan and Katy
